Blossoms in June

It's turning out to be a wonderful month for me! I am so excited to have been chosen as one of the members of Mommylhey's design team and privileged to still be part of Planners and Journals design team member for the PnJplanner kit. 

On this post, you'll see how obsessed I am over June's kit. Although I had been pretty busy with back to school preparations, this month's kit helped me stay in a delightful mood. Since this month was so beautiful, I also decided to go back to my stunning medium gold Kikki-k. I thought it'd match pretty well. 

Let's start with the gorgeous dashboard. 

Isn't it so pretty?? I feel like this dashboard already tells how incredible the June kit is! I am in love with Aina Reyes-Paco's special brush calligraphy. If I could just borrow her hands... forever! 

This month's kit came with several add-ons made by the P&J design team...

A sheet of Flag stickers..

I was so happy that the kit came with these stickers. I love flag stickers. I use them a lot! This sheet is too beautiful though so it's taking me a while to use them up. Lol! 

2 sheets of cardstock samples.. 

The print on the cardstocks is beautiful! I'm also having a hard time cutting them up!!! I plan on making one of them as a divider and another as a page marker.

I love these and definitely putting them to use. What's also awesome about it is that it already has a perforated middle so I don't need to worry when I fold it in half. I also thought I could just take them apart and have more tabs!

I originally used mine for random planning but for future use, I decided to do my design team planning on this spread.  

I went back to my usual wo2p planning (can't wait to show you the end of my week!!)

And the ever so useful daily spread. Side note: I also love that P&J didn't put boxes to each line. That gave me freedom to use my list stamps from StudioL2e. You'll see more of that next time. 

Of course, true to it's objective, P&J collaborated with several people for equally awesome goodies.

MLD picked me!

In the first week of the month, I had the opportunity to apply for a spot in the Mommylhey design team. I am very excited to let all of you know that I got a spot and I couldn't be happier. 

I am soooo eager and excited to work with such an amazing and inspiring group of people. I can't wait to share all the wonderful ideas and new techniques we will all try. 

PlannersandJournals May Planner Kit

It's now much easier to blog! I found out that blogger has an app and I could easily add photos too. I'm a happy girl :)

This year, I was very lucky to have been chosen to be part of the Plannersandjournals team for the PnJplannerkit that was launched in May. The goal of the PnJplannerkit is to produce quality yet affordable set of planning supplies every month. We also work with various Filipino brands and artists to help produce inclusions in the kit. How cool is that?! 

For our first month, our theme was woodland creatures. We had the fox as our main character. Each kit included everything in the picture below. 

The kit includes a very pretty tassel clip designed by GennDesigns

and a self-inking stamp produced by PlannerandJournals for the kit. It has the phrase "current obsession" and I almost came to the point where I wanted to stamp everything with it. Lol! 

I wanted to experiment with the inclusions of the kit. So one free day, I just quickly cut one of the cardstocks, punched out some holes and made it into a page marker for the day on 2 pages inserts. 

Of course before the kits were released, I already knew beforehand that we will be be introducing week on 1 page and day on 2 page layouts. I have never ever worked with such layouts. I've been used to week on 2 page layouts so of course I was nervous as wreck but as the reveal date grew closer, I became excited. I knew I still "needed" to decorate my planner to give a sense of my identity so I searched for some inspiration for the different styles and designing techniques.

 Here are some of the designs I eventually made. 

I really enjoyed planning with my May kit, I'm sure those who subscribed did too. I've already started planning with my June kit and I can't wait for you to see it. Please come back for more :)

Mommy Lhey Design Team Call Submission 2015

It's definitely time to start blogging. It's been a whole year since I've been sucked into this so-called planner community. Although I've been using planners for more than a decade, it was only last year when I saw that they are other people as crazy as I am. I've always been reading blogs here and there to get tips for planning, journaling, stamping and a lot of other related things and I thought, 'why not create a blog of my own?'.. I've been seriously contemplating for a couple of months, thinking nobody would read it anyway, but since Mommylhey posted a design team call and posted her list of requirements, it felt like the final push to start blogging, I got super excited, decided that I did actually really wanted to blog and I went for it.

You'll be reading how I used my Mommylhey stamps in designing my spread for June. You see, i've fallen in love with her stamps since I first started using them.. And I'm not saying this because I'm applying for the design team. I love how firm the stamps are and how thick or tall it is. I wouldn't have to worry about the stamp touching or smudging the ink! 

Since it's the beginning of the month, I decided to make a divider and dashboard for June. I experimented with my new gold StazOn and used the flourish square stamp from the Tag You're It set on a clear transparency film. I used a transparency film because I could still put some sticky notes on a part of the dashboard without totally covering up the design below it. I initially thought I'd stamp 4 times for the letters J-U-N-E but I realized too late that the Alpha stamps are not with me yet (Yay! Shipping starts next week). 

 I chose 4 words from different stamp sets to emphasize what this month will comprise of: planning, meetings,  daily and weekly lists. I stamped it on a different sheet of paper because I still intend to use the dashboard for July when my alpha stamps are here.

It's also a new week so I prepared a new layout on my Erin Condren inspired inserts from Plannersandjournals. When designing my layout, my usual technique is to shop my stash and find something that inspires me... but I just came home from the mall and bought myself new stickers from The Paper Stone and a roll of Maste washi tape so I had to use it!! I als

o used stickers from Beadstreet and cut up some papers from the Serendipity 6x6 paper pad to fit my insert squares. I grabbed the list stamp from My Daily Kawaii, covered up a part of the stamp so it would fit my squares and also built a new list using the solid heart stamp on the set and a part of the list stamp.

Of course I stamped the rest of the events for the week but still left some writing space. When planning, I always pre-stamp but I need some free space for unexpected events, appointments etc..

Who would have thought I would actually get this far?

After being diagnosed w/ Stage4 Rhabdomyosarcoma in 1998, I thought my future would crumble before me. 13 yrs 4 mos & a day later, I've been continuously blessed to keep myself involved in extra curricular activities, join advocacy grps, miss several meals, be sleep deprived & yet still stand strong, more than ever!

THANK YOU to everyone who helped me get this far, especially to my God! To my family who supported me even though I was pasaway, to my profs & cooperating teachers who encouraged & acknowledged my abilities, to my friends from SOCC, COE, & SPEED who made my college life full of enjoyable experiences, to vGuTSky (pioneer sped2) who was my family in educ, to Dan who helped me be calm through my stressful days and to my GuTS & Silong family who helped me be exceptional & beyond..from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

I didn't think I would be so blessed to have such fulfilling awards. To everyone who helped me be the best I can be, thank you! Everyone can truly be exceptional and beyond.

I have never felt so blessed, privileged & proud to graduate a Thomasian Leader, a Speducator, a Neo-Centennial Graduate <3

Journey to Bataan

my affair with Club journey was short lived. Why? Well simply because it's meant to last for only 10 days.

We packed our bags for the 10 days trip to Bataan, and boy did we have a hard time. Apparently, it was wiser to pack light. With all the activities we had in a day, who would really have the energy to change or bathe when night comes? All we actually could do was to brush our teeth, hit the sack and zzzzZZZZzzz.

As soon as we arrived in Bataan, we were greeted by the townspeople with a small cheering number. Even if they were relatively older ladies cheering their selves off, they were actually cute and it was an awesome feeling to be welcomed appropriately.

And as soon as we were settled in our rooms, we decided to have our first group photo (below). There were actually 10 shots.. well 20 cause we did it twice.. of some people having a single pose in all the shots. It made the photos a lot more hilarious!

And yeah, I got sick in the middle of it all but I'm glad to have gone through it. I felt horrible physically, but this was one of the most fulfilling experiences I have had since my passion for special education.

Karen, a fellow advocate from New Era University, was one of the closest friends I gained during the camp.

...and eventually, we were deemed 'Carl's Angels'

The letting go ceremony was the most tear jerking event in my entire life! I rarely cry ...in public. But, when I do, I bawl my eyes out. I barely had time to breathe cause I was crying so much during the send off. We became too attached as a group with the kids.

The last shot of the group was taken while we were waiting to board our bus. It was most hilarious because our photos got wackier and wackier ..and wackier. It was the last time we were to spend time with the kids. Sad as it seemed, we tried to have as much fun as we can.

Angels for another day

I joined in the celebration of World Autism Day, together with Guild of Thomasian Speducators, and Autism Society Philippines in the hopes of raising Autism awareness all over the world. April 2 was definitely a special day for ASP because aside from celebrating World Autism Day, they are having their 1st World Angels walk during mall hours. It was a nice thought that a lot more people will have knowledge on our advocacy.

Act for Autism not later, not tomorrow. Act 4 Autism NOW!

It's a shame though because there were less people in attendance as compared to the National Autism Consciousness Angel's Walk. Perhaps information were disseminated a little later than hoped. However, it's understandable because it's the first time that there's an advocacy walk during the celebration of World Autism Awareness.

I'm definitely looking forward to more fun-filled activities with GuTS and ASP <3
